Great Concept

This is a humorous take on the upgrading element of games, but more importantly it is a very well-executed shooter. The gameplay is very smooth and easy to learn, making it easy to focus on logistics. The speed booster is fairly unnecessary since flicking the spaceship left and right keeps most of the field enfilade. Still, the difficulty curve matches the availability of upgrades very well, making it challenging but not frustrating. The graphics and animation are both very fitting. Even the 8-bit style is fun and functional. Perhaps future versions could incorporate an upgrade allowing the player to toggle graphic styles. My only complaint is that after level 20 has been beaten and the ship is fully upgraded, it ceases to be much of a challenge. More levels or different challenges would be a great addition.

Good, but some setbacks

The whole series is good but you should have kept the office to get the list, since it was the whole series' "thing". The RPG element of buying guns with money was a waste-yea it was kinda cool but it didn't really matter all that much, and you couldn't try out all the guns and see what you liked. Losing money when you failed a mission was really lame, but there was money left over if you wanted to buy the best gun and attachments so it kind of made up for it. Choosing you own hits was pretty lame too, since you had to kill them all anyway it didn't matter. It seemed like you wanted to spice it up a bit, but it doesn't really work all that well. Yeah, the whole thing was cool, but you could have spent more time of situational things (killing the magician, the rich dude, etc...) rather than adding new things.

A few issues

Awesome game overall. But there were a few huge problems. Like others have said one hit kills suck, no matter how many lives you have. Even if it only took 2-3 hits to die and maybe you recovered enough life to take one more hit every 10 kills or something. Being able to hold down A to fire with the regular gun would be nice, instead of having to mash it constantly. The three selections of difficulty weren't difficulties, just different numbers of lives you had, which doesn't make it harder, it just makes you able to get farther in the game. Being able to pause and possibly restart the current level, would be a plus, because the first time I got to the climbing spider boss I fell under it and it just kept climbing while I was off screen, unable to do anything, so I had to reopen the game and start over.

Fun creative game

The whole, 'create-your-own doomsday-virus' sub-genre is a young one but this is game has already made it a legit sub-genre ^^ Sure you don't get to use the virus to kill anybody but unlike Pandemic you actually get the sense that you have created something that COULD go on to infect and kill off the whole of humankind. The game is easy to get into and once you get the hang of the different genetic modifications it can almost get to the point where you pretty much just stemeroll over the other infectious strains of virus. It would have been cool to set this virus loose on mankind to see how much havoc it could cause but that's a completely different game

Better

Excellent game, well animated, nice, simple storyline that adds to the gameplay without being distracting, great work on the physics, nice challenges, trying to to destroy other structures while getting the building low enough. Great twist ending too. The only tiny microscopic criticism I have is that once you get the all the upgrades, you have nothing to spend your money on, and that isn't enough to take away a point. Great job.

Physics

I would assume that when a normal building falls over, pieces don't stack themselves on top of each other for no damn reason other than the friction of the pieces is too high! If the different pieces would coincide with how the real world works, this physics game could be much better. Like if they slid a bit, or even broke under a certain amount of pressure.

Great

Even though it's a simple little visualizer thing it was really fun to play around with. It's pretty sad on my part but I went at least three minutes on the same one before I realized I could change it to different ones. Finding that out made me get sucked in even more than before. Some of them are really interesting and create some cool designs when you swirl them around a lot. I'm looking forward to the next one if it's still not done. I've yet to check if it is or not.

It will be done soon, I just have lost the FLA. I have a previous FLA, but without some major stuff I have added. I will just need to add it again. I got a new macbook so I should probably put flash on here.

Cute

Again, your imagination produce the most shining gems of flash games. Altough short and basic gameplay, you managed to create an original (not to say dinotasticly absurd) and funny piece of game. The lack of a proper story and lenght are the only flaws. I'm still your number 3 (I'm sure there are two fanatics that wants to kidnap you andfan so keep satisfying me with your awesome work.

its really funny how you can tell something was deleted after "and"

Great Game

That last explosion, although stated numerous times throughout the reviews, scared the hell out of me... (I avoid reading reviews as they often have a lot of spoilers) I thought some of the idea's were fantastic, a few of them could even be built upon even further and or perhaps a few of them mixed together to provide an even more interesting idea = D (I'd give examples of what I mean but I am to tired to bother with it lol) My only problem was that for some reason when I would complete a level the first time round and I wouldn't get 100% Orbs I would go back and retry it until I did, but even when I did get 100% Orbs my score wouldn't change from what I got originally... That aside I thought it was fantastic... Keep up the great work mate = D

studiopaul responds:

Sorry about that last explosion, it even scares me. And as for the orbs fiasco, that's no bug, it's just that your score depends on the time and the orbs you collect, so if you get a better orb percentage but slower time then it wont rewrite over your previous score with a lower one.

Thanks for the review, I sincerely enjoyed reading it, although it is a bit hot in here.

Review

Loved the premised and the graphics. The only problem is that it was really quite easy. I completed it while making my dinner so I wasnt even really trying. Im not sure how you could balance it so that it was still fun but harder, youve obviously got some good ideas so Im sure youll figure it out. Game balancing issues are at the top of the list but there are always more things you can do too. Looking forward to a sequel :)

I'm a pretty laid back person. Like some things about the new design but still like a lot of things from the old one :/
