Nice

While there isn't a lot to it, it certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat. You'll definitely want to play it more than once, to see what different reactions and scoring you can get. Though, something tells me that the score is a bit superfluous, since it doesn't tell you what kind of score is better. As far as I could tell from my scores I couldn't tell if higher was actually better or not. I thought the nil value for fun was a good joke though.

K-Guare responds:

For a while I didn't want to say, but it's been so long now...
The scores aren't supposed to mean anything, it's an interpretative thing.
I originally made this to see different reactions in scoring, and
how a simple quiz game can mean so much to people.

I don't know about a sequel to this anymore,
but you hit the nail on the head here:
the score - although not randomly generated - is of questionable nature.

And that's how I wanted it. ;)
Have a good day, and thnx4tha10!

Nice Tutorial

-Well it's kind of a dissapointing tutorial since it only covers AS2 for sound and didn't include anything on any of the newer forms of actionscript that a lot of people might also find helpful. But to learn that they would have to go somewhere else rendering your tutorial obsolete. Maybe a better title so people don't end up going to the wrong place and having to adjust their code.

-I've already made a couple of flashes with sound in AS2 and everything was well in order and worked fine so good job on the coding. Also no problems with the buttons other than a go back to beginning button is missing. Pretty basic tutorial overall but it will be helpful to some people so your goal was achieved.

MCarsten responds:

Thanks Sixflab! Yeah, some people didn't liked by this be as3, but is because I use Macromedia Flash 8, than I don't know coding in this one, but for as2 I already know pretty well and was better to me keeps with it, than change to another just in my top days on programming, would be like forget everything I know and need to learn everything again, I don't want to do this.

But I also got people who liked it, I received two 10 scores, one 9 and also I got by now 8 people who favorited my submission, maybe you already got more than this, but I'm happy with the result from this tutorial.

Thanks for the review!!

Nice Adaption

-Rather interesting game with loads of mini games that took a ton of time to actually play through. It's pretty convenient being able to take this on the go since I would of found this rather tedious to play on my computer since the game screen is small and the computer screen is a ton larger. Really enjoyed playing this but it doesn't have much replayability for me once I did everything.

-The only thing that I can pick out that annoyed me some was that the character moves too slow when he is outside. Being able to move faster would make it so there wasn't as much time waiting to play different mini-games. It's nothing major since I can tell it probably took a long time to put this all together and if that's the only flaw I could find then you must be doing something right.

Kwing responds:

Your three gripes all have answers:

You can buy running shoes in the store southbound. Those double your walking speed.

For replay value, you can try and get all 27 achievements. I'll bet $20 you didn't get the Story God medal.

The screen size is adjustable using the Newgrounds button. I set it so that you can resize it on purpose ^^

Thanks for the high review!

Very informative

-Yes, for once someone giving a tutorial where I haven't actually used it already in one of my animations. While my animations are very simple people who make tutorials usually make it for the easiest things that you can learn in two seconds and start using right away.

-The tutorial was easily navigatable but I suggest making the buttons square and covering an area rather than having to go over the little letters to select them. Tedious but it's a lot easier to use buttons where you can click an area. The pages also get pretty word lengthy without many pictures and this can get taxing to read. I'm not sure if there is anyway to get around this but it can turn away audiences.

-Nice choice of song and something to pass along the time while going through the tutorial but having the option to mute the music if you have something else palying is also helpful. Overall nice tutorial but a few tweaks are needed.

Kwing responds:

Sorry about the buttons. I made it like that on purpose, but perhaps that was a mistake. And yes, it needs a mute button. Sorry for my blunder there.

Fun

-I found this game to be rather enjoyable even though it was one of the simplest shooters i've ever played. Having a start screen with control instructions is helpful even though I was able to figure out the controls by trial and error pretty easily. Cute little cat enemies that shot pencils and some challenging but not too difficult boss enemies. Not bad for a first game.

-Only flaws I found were that you get full health regeneration too often and it makes the game insanely easy since all you have to do is spam the screen and you'll get a health powerup before you run out of health. Few tweaks and it should put some difficulty into the game.

Axiom responds:

Thanks... I didn't think to put instructions on the opening screen till AFTER I uploaded it *slaps forehead*

Hmm I tried to make the power ups random. But obviously I need to go back and tweak it. Thanks for the advice.

Nice -8382- High Score

-It's a great take on a classic game genre of the simple task of avoiding all of the random stuff that is thrown at you. It seems like you have had some success with doing this since this is the fourth game in the series and this is just a mini-game of sorts.

-The menu is a bit lacking in details. It looks fancy and you can change the music there to the one you like but it is difficult to change once you are in the game. I couldn't figure out if you could pause the game or not. I just ended up thinking I couldn't in the end since you say the game is entirely controlled by the mouse. A little pull out menu or different screen would be nice to tell you exactly what all of the different colored things going across the screen are/do.

-The screen feels too big to me since I had no problem avoiding anything until my score became large and the screen became clustered with objects. It would make it more of a challenge even if the screen was a little smaller since it would give you less time to react to some of the objects coming from the sides of the screen.

-The variety of this little mini-game was great in the long run but i'd just like to see a few changes and it would make the difference for me. The description menu being the biggest thing for me.

I really appreciate the review man, thank you.

Great

Even though it's a simple little visualizer thing it was really fun to play around with. It's pretty sad on my part but I went at least three minutes on the same one before I realized I could change it to different ones. Finding that out made me get sucked in even more than before. Some of them are really interesting and create some cool designs when you swirl them around a lot. I'm looking forward to the next one if it's still not done. I've yet to check if it is or not.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

It will be done soon, I just have lost the FLA. I have a previous FLA, but without some major stuff I have added. I will just need to add it again. I got a new macbook so I should probably put flash on here.

Cute

Again, your imagination produce the most shining gems of flash games. Altough short and basic gameplay, you managed to create an original (not to say dinotasticly absurd) and funny piece of game. The lack of a proper story and lenght are the only flaws. I'm still your number 3 (I'm sure there are two fanatics that wants to kidnap you andfan so keep satisfying me with your awesome work.

Great Game

That last explosion, although stated numerous times throughout the reviews, scared the hell out of me... (I avoid reading reviews as they often have a lot of spoilers) I thought some of the idea's were fantastic, a few of them could even be built upon even further and or perhaps a few of them mixed together to provide an even more interesting idea = D (I'd give examples of what I mean but I am to tired to bother with it lol) My only problem was that for some reason when I would complete a level the first time round and I wouldn't get 100% Orbs I would go back and retry it until I did, but even when I did get 100% Orbs my score wouldn't change from what I got originally... That aside I thought it was fantastic... Keep up the great work mate = D

studiopaul responds:

Sorry about that last explosion, it even scares me. And as for the orbs fiasco, that's no bug, it's just that your score depends on the time and the orbs you collect, so if you get a better orb percentage but slower time then it wont rewrite over your previous score with a lower one.

Thanks for the review, I sincerely enjoyed reading it, although it is a bit hot in here.

Great

I enjoyed your earlier mini games so much that it's pretty much been a must to come back and play all of the new ones that you make. This one was no exception either. It was well put together and was challenging at times to advance. The multiple objective parts were definitely the most challenging to me since it gave me a time limit to figure them out. I'm really looking forward to even more Reincarnation games in the future.

I'm a pretty laid back person. Like some things about the new design but still like a lot of things from the old one :/
