Great Job

"They really wanted to go to Busch Gardens." Your humor astounds me sometimes. There were other parts that I thought were great but they were full of off color words. Great investigative work went on here and some nice camera angles only helped it out.

Fro responds:

Thanks, this is our second oldest movie. :P

Great

Grats on the awards man. You deserve em. That toon was rad. Simple but Beautiful idea. The music really enhanced it. Epic choice. I'll probably go download it now. I like the little details you put into it. How the guys clothing does an almost transformers approach of jumping together. Well at least people of some sort made Stonehenge lol. I always kinda get pissed at people who say aliens did it or some shit, Give people more credit. But yea. Very well put together. Hope this spurs you on to make some more epic animations.

vezanmatics responds:

ah but people DID make it! PEOPLE FROM THE FUTURE!

hahahahaha

Tom Cruise has never been in such a dramatic role that can really let him show off his flair and true sexyness like this movie. You should definitely have a sequel. You can't just leave me with such a big cliffhanger and not expect your viewers to want to see more.

Fautzo responds:

Ni99apenguin the sequel: Coming soon to your local newgrounds

it's gonna be way bigger than this one

Well

If these guys would have just laughed along with everyone else, laughed at themselves, and not gotten so pissed off and worked up over it, then it would have died a quick death. But, no, they got all defensive and pissy, so that just fueled folks into making more fun of them, until it suddenly became an NG meme, which could later go on to be an internet meme if /b/ and other groups embrace it. Moral of the story is, if you make a big deal out of nothing and get your feelings hurt too easily, folks will eat you alive.

They don't teach common sense or street smarts at the internet academy. Trolls are gonna troll.

Enjoyable

I agree with someone that the backgrounds need more work. Namely things like a solid grey wall, or a black scribble for a sky. Now if you want to do that sky like that, that's cool. Though I'd suggest finding a friend with photoshop if you don't have it to remake the sky for you in the same manner. I think it'll just come out looking better. I didn't have a problem with the chronological order of the story, obviously we're missing information needed to understand the plot fully. Will have to see the second one. Voice actors were fine for the most part, I'm not going to fault you with any problems there. Though "Shaun's" dialogue was awkward, it started off fine. Though the comment about "I won't be the next one to be infected." Wasn't the way you'd expect a real person to phrase that. I'd say something more like, "You have a fucking disease. You're not giving me your shit."

TheFabs responds:

Eh, he's still her friend. He doesn't want to be TOO mean to her!

Great

I mean the fact that this animation doesn't have a gold trophy and a 4.2 score literally amazes me. I am confident it will reach those heights in due time though, Including exposure on the front page. I think, obviously the key point to this entire animation was the Octopus. It has some funny moments, was drawn well and unique, and had the best voice to every grace anything on this site. Or anywhere else for that matter. Smooth animation, great drawings, absolutely amazing voice acting. Overall it was just brilliant. You earned your five

CircusFreakFlash responds:

thank you, sir

Great

You guys did a great job with this. Even though there were many delays in making the flash i'm glad it was completed. Where as the clocks usually have tons of spam with a couple of good videos I really look forward to lock day coming around. I know that great flashes are going to be made and this is no exception. The overall length is very impressive and how everyone made animations to go along with the song made it more enjoyable since you put the words into action.

That's how we roll!

-I see what you did tharr budday. Lead us into believing we were going to see some epic fight scene only to be graced by the epic sounds of it.

-Regardless of that it was pretty well done. Nice little plot with some funny little lead-up music. It's drawn and animated pretty well. I just wish it would of been a little longer and didn't leave loopholes like how Pablo got down into the middle of the battle from his fortified position.

-Great little short story overall though. It flowed smoothly and everything was well drawn. The marching sound could of been a little quieter but armor isn't exactly quiet now is it.

-I honestly wish the file size of this could be made smaller without screwing with the quality but alas I really doubt that is possible even if you load this externally. Some people with slower computers will get annoyed with the load time and just bypass it(took somewhere around 45 seconds for me but I had several windows open and it would of probably went a little faster if it was just this one page open). It will make it much less likely to be widely viewed by people and they won't get to see how great of an animator that you really are.

-The preloader is pretty snazzy in my opinion. It's not a generic Newgrounds loader or some plain looking one that you made. You actually dedicated some time to make it look nice. The words have that nice spray-painted on look pasted on the brick background. I'm not sure what the caution tape is for but still it looks cool. Actually it probably is a mental barrier holding them back or something along those lines. Quality controls are a nice addition too and help out some with people with slow computers. The little movie editing buttons on the bottom were quite useful since it allowed me to get to certain areas of the video that I thought needed to be watched again(i'll get to this later).

-The drawing style was quite interesting to me as i haven't seen too many animations drawn in this way. You may have used pictures and still frames for backgrounds but they were well picked backgrounds. You also had a wide variety of scenery and dimensions in the pictures you chose to use. Even though I don't think i've seen your previous animations I think it's safe to say you did a great job with the backgrounds. But with that you brought such a drasticly different drawing style into the mix with the characters and the many prop type items that the characters were using and/or around them. The characters were a bit messy but that's how most teenager/young adults are these days. They don't take a ton of time getting ready and have that just rolled out of bed look. Your drawing style really brought that out in my eyes and made everything seem more realistic and drew me more into the actual characters.

-The story is hard to keep up with honestly. It setting changes quite often and it's difficult to keep up with the characters and what they are doing. They look very similar to each other and I was confused as to who was who a couple times so I had to re-watch certain parts over a couple of times. It's a minor setback in plot fluidity but it's not a big issue as far as the concept goes.

-Probably the most perfect song you could of picked for this. It fit so well and helped smooth everything together a lot better. Without the music it would of been dragged down by two much voice acting and would of been a lot choppier. But the fact that there was still just a little voice acting involved in some areas made it more believable. Everyone was so animated throughout and really showed passion in some way, shape, or form towards what they were trying to achieve.

-As mentioned there are some minor flaws but what are meger flaws compared to the giant of what is this animation. It goes above and beyond to convey feelings without words. Something that is very difficult to do and requires a lot of facial and body expressions that are very tiny details but take a lot of time to do. All in all it's a giant leap above most people. Just try and vary characters a little more in the future so it's easier to tell them apart. Other than that it seems like you accomplished your goals with this amazing animation.

Skaijo responds:

Thanks so much for the kind and really indepth review. I really appreciate your time and the effort that went into this review. File size is certainly an issue I want to improve on. I feel like if I converted this to a video before uploading, I could have gotten it down to about 14MB but, on the other hand, I kinda have a esteem -boost by managing the feat of producing this animation entirely in .swf form.

In my next major project, I'll use the preloader to help explain the story better so that it's less confusing. I think that'll be a good opportunity to, in an entertaining manner, lead the viewers into the narrative without having to wait to read the author's comments. :3

-I'm considering a lyric's option at the end of my animations with English lyrics instead of subtitles while the animation is playing. What would you think of that?

Again, thanks so much for this thought-filled review! I sincerely appreciate the love. :3

Yeah

Wine is such a brown-noser. It's one of the better lock day flashes even though it wasn't that long. The randomness of the flash was what really made it. I never knew what to expect. Even after the ending it just kept coming.

MasterLock responds:

And then everyone died.

I'm a pretty laid back person. Like some things about the new design but still like a lot of things from the old one :/
